It ’s the most beautiful time of the year : Fall . And as luck would have it for us , all of youpulled out your camerasto give us a look at the beautiful leaf range from Calgary to Croatia .

Winner: Minnesota Canopy

My exposure meekness is from a recent ride near my home in Minnesota . I lead out early on in the morning with the intention of strike photos of the swans and various ducks and geese at near wildlife management domain . I had forgotten in was duck’s egg season and with shotgun going off and the numerous multitude , waterfowl were nowhere to be ascertain , let alone sitting still if they were nearby . I persist in to drive away and through the area and amount upon a heavier wooded area . The Lord’s Day shine down through the canopy set off the deep gloaming yellowness from the surrounding trees .. It was the highlight and unexpected exposure of the day for me .

Jim Basa

Crazy Pink

This is a tree outside our firm , where the leaves turn a wild pink color before falling off . Some fallen leaves get stuck in the tree where they turn a dark Bolshevik . I point the earpiece up from underneath the Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree .

No filter was used here , shot with an iPhone 6S and the stock tv camera app .

George Washington National Forest

The video was taken on an offroad trail in the George Washington National Forest with a D5000 and 35 mm lens . I find the reflexion in the lake to be a great subject for the picture , put by the yellow and green timberland . I had been driving back down the track and took the picture from the nates of my car as it gave me a good height to get the shot .

I go for you enjoy the photograph . I ’ve been inspired by IndefinitelyWild to jaunt the creation and record my adventures in the relative little term ( 2 - 3 years ) .

Morton Arboretum

I ’ve been a longtime viewer of the Shooting Challenge posts , but this is my first submission . I work at The Morton Arboretum in Illinois and bonk the brilliant trees and colors this time of year , but I have n’t gotten a hazard to get a shot that I like of the fall leaves . I was later for work and rushing to my car . Once I got outside , I noticed it had rained overnight and make a clump of those minor annoying leaves to be plastered all over my car . Once I sat in the driver seat and looked at the windscreen , it almost seem as if the farewell were frozen in mid loose dusk , rather of just resting on my window . Taken with my iPhone 6 and lightly edit in VSCO .

Calgary

This guess was taken in Calgary , Alberta , Canada overleap Edworthy Park , west of the metropolis core . In the distance you’re able to see business district . I really care the winding road coming through the valley of colorful trees and decided to stitch multiple picture together to get a wide slant slam of the area . I germinate this with my DJI Inspire 1 with X3 photographic camera . It is a four - layer , 18 image pic - stitch .

Syracuse Serviceberry

In Syracuse , NY we have already been blessed with snow while the trees are still turn , but the photo I got of that is too uncheerful to show this early in the drear time of year . At the bit we are having a run of tender , if damp , weather , which seems to be protract the senescence of the leaves . I have a grand full of regionally aboriginal plants ( which I planted to displace the invasive exotics favored by the previous owner ) , and in my front curtilage , verge on my porch stair and the pavement , is a beautiful juneberry Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree , which flowers a marginal white all over in give , is insure with birds eating the berries in early summer , and then turns these nutso harlequin deep green and maroon colors you see in the picture , not just within the bush from leaf to thumb , but also within each folio . Since I have been coming home to this spectacle for a little over a week , I was thrilled to see this calendar week ’s challenge . I shot this handheld from my step , look down on the lower offset , using my Sony A7R mk2 with an SEL90M28 G macro lens . Shutter was 1/60 , aperture f/7.1 , ISO 200 , manually focused , just as evening was arrange in .

Tohickan Creek

I took this photo of the Tohickan Creek , Tohickan Campground in Pennsylvania last Friday dark . The color reflecting in the creek against the absolved starry skies made me run for my tripod . 36 Bajillion

This twelvemonth , I had to take a photo in my yard – I missed the aspen in CO by a workweek or so .

After a few days of pelting , my cubic yard is covered by about 36 bajillion leaves . Today is the first cheery solar day after the rain , and they depend beautiful – but I have to go and run down them soon . I walk the neighborhood appear for that consummate leaf , with the blue sky behind , and I took some nice shot . As I was coming back to the mansion , I saw this one – neighbor ’s crimson maple leaf in my G , in the middle of this immense pile of golden foliage . I accept a few photos , and decide to crop it tight – I enjoy the Marxist against the gold . Taken with Canon 6D and 70 - 200L f2.8 handheld , ISO100 , 170 mm , f2.8 , 1/3200

Crede Companions

My special dame friend and I took our annual trip to southerly Colorado . This year we chose Creede , CO which is a great small X - mining town in the San Juan Mountain Range . One day after eating breakfast at the only restaurant in townspeople I came across some aspen leave still cover with the late night ’s dew . I used a Sony RX100 ii in macro mode for the prompt snap .

Life - size bronze statue of the eighth Station of the Cross at the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy in Stockbridge , MA . The tree line was 1/8 of a mile behind the the place and only a fistful of tree had begun to change , the rest of the tree line was still unripe . The ikon was photograph several 100 feet back from the station at 160 mm to capture the tree argument . The method acting gave the prototype a 3D feel . Sony A7RII with 24 - 240 Sony lens

Lone Flame

Like the lead picture of the shooting challenge , while I was out walking two detent for body of work , I saw this Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree . It was midway in the Lord’s Day , the other half in shadow . What really stood out for me was that the shadow country was more unripe , the sun area more amber / red , and almost looked like the top of it was on fire . fortunately the two dogs both decided to take a pee breakage in our walking for me to be able-bodied to take this picture . I need to get more shot and dally with the preferences more , maybe try taking some shooting in HDR mode , but the dogs did n’t cooperate .

fortuitously , this was taken with all default preferences in automatonlike mode on a Nokia Lumia 928 in the Lumia Camera app . f - stop ended up being f/2 , and 1/540 second exposure .

Maple

When I saw this challenge I planned to take out one of my “ real ” camera to see what I could get this weekend . But a curious thing bump on the mode to the meeting place …

I went to chat my parents who still live in the same house we grew up in . Typical of suburban area there were few trees when we move in , All us kids embed Tree and the tradition continued with the next propagation . My niece ’s boodle maple had fervid crimson leaves but had already lose most of them . My nephew chose this silver maple to plant . The practiced camera is the one you have and I had my Moto X saturated on hand . Using an Android telephone set on HDR mode I managed to capture this pic . craw and contrast thanks to Paint.net .

Oneonta Gorge

I took this image in Oneonta Gorge which is a small canyon in the Columbia River Gorge just out of doors of Portland , OR . You have to climb over a large logarithm jam to reach this section and I noticed that beautiful yellow leaf from the tree above the gullet were drifting down into the water . I set up my camera on a tripod in ankle joint deep pee ( I could n’t feel my foot after a while ) and took this guesswork after tossing one of the leaves so it would drift by during the long exposure and create a streak of color . I used a polarizer to lessen the glare on the stream and a small-scale aperture to capture the detail in the leaves in the foreground and the fern covered canyon walls beyond . No billet processing was done so this is the image directly from the television camera . Nikon D90 , AF - S Nikkor 12 - 24 millimeter f/4 with polarizer , 5 second vulnerability at f/20 using ISO 200 and underexposed -2/3 EV .

While visit Dallas Arboretum I make up one’s mind to take my Canon T3i Camera along with me in hope that I can catch some beautiful free fall colors . Vancouver

Had just buy this unexampled / sure-enough lens system that i want to try out , its a Tamron 28mm-200 millimeter f3.8 - 5.6 legacy lens that i used with an adapter with my Sony A7 . I go for a manner of walking with it and tested it out on some trees , i really wish this one , because even though its in the city you ca n’t tell that it is or it is n’t from this angle , and in my judgment that just makes it that much well , I ’m golden enough to live in a city like Vancouver where we have a lot of trees everywhere but not a lot of big metropolis have trees any longer , so i thought this angle was appropriate , shows that even in adult cities you could find that one tree diagram that gives you placidity and ataraxis .

Nashville Gray

I have been reading Gizmodo and sister situation for years , chiefly Jalopnik I own a 1968 f100 ( sequester ) . My married woman is always taking pic of our 3 young boys and/or paying a professional photographer . Over the years my married woman name numerous times how she took photography course in college and bang it . So I conceive I had the good idea ever and would get her a skillful DSLR for Christmas last twelvemonth . I bought her a Nikon d3200 with the 18 - 55 mm and 55 - 200 mm lenses . She was entirely intimidated by it … .. So in trying to learn her and show her how promiscuous it was I have started to come in love with photography . I am a complete novice , but love take on characterization . I saw the challenge and suppose i would give it a shot . I exist near Nashville , TN on a wooded lot and wanted to take a pic from my backyard . walk around with the boys get hold of a few pics of leave-taking this one was spotted looking up on a limb .

Grape Leaves

I was out dash last nighttime because I had dropped my camera last week onto a crushed rock route ( while getting out of my hand truck in the woods ) and break the ultraviolet filter , however , it appeared that the lens of the eye itself was not harmed ( amazing ) . After replacing the UV filter , I was out test to check that it still crop ok . I believe this was a coolheaded picture of grapeshot leaves as the sun was setting . I shoot this with my Rebel SL1 . ISO : 200 , f/4 , and 1/60 .

Essence

I expend the last few weeks admire and photograph the leaves , but it was n’t until I shift my focal point to the light that my photos started to capture the heart and soul of fall . Canon T2i , ISO 100 f/4.0 1/100

Matt Heiniger

Color Explosion

I recently moved from Texas to Illinois and am loving the scenery already . I was driving around this weekend just after sunrise looking for a colorful scene to snap . I made my way to the old part of town where there are brick roadstead and old theater and was rewarded with this visual modality . The sunlight lit up this tree diagram like I could n’t trust . I ’m very felicitous the photograph captured the brilliance as well as it did . However , the picture fudge the setting in one manner : strong and inviting as it may look , it was just above freezing and my jacket was not enceinte enough for this outing . Sony A77 , 16 millimetre , f/18 , 1/20 sec . , ISO 320

A Little Off The Top

discover this tree overtop a pool on our morning birding walk yesterday . I like that most other Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree nearby were either still green or already leafless , so that made this one stand out more . Nikon D3300 with 55 - 300 lens

Seattle Spiders

I know fall leaves are n’t exactly the subject of this photo , but here in Seattle you ca n’t see up at a tree without hear spiders this time of year . canyon EOS - M3 with the 100 mm macro lens . Manual 1/100s , f/13 , ISO 200 then light redaction in Lightroom and Color Efex Pro 4 .

Jealous

There ’s not much of a story to tell about this one . Our neighbor house has been abandoned for the past 3 year yet somehow , their lawn , bushes , and trees always look good than ours . I bet out my windowpane a few day ago and the leaf that were all altogether green the day before were all completely bright yellowed . spill the beans about being envious … I took this with a Sony A6000 in the machine setting . I stood straight under the tree and just level straight up facing toward the Sunday .

Neshaminy Creek

This snapshot was taken along the Neshaminy Creek at Tyler State Park in Pennsylvania . I wanted to take a recollective exposure pic of leave of absence flow through the creek so I take up a brusque hike up the brook once a week for the past month until the condition were right . I used a achromatic density filter and set my lens to f/22 so I could take a 25 second exposure . I used a Sony a7R ii with a Rokinon 14 mm f/2.8 lense at ISO 50 .

Dylan Mirales

Louisville

Living in Louisville , KY in an sometime neighborhood with plenty of trees , fall is an peculiarly beautiful time of twelvemonth . I can walk out of my house and see multiple Tree with many desirable twilight pictures . I choose this pic of a cornel leaf to give in because of its rich color and relative simpleness . It also looks like a conventionalize preying mantid and I reckon that is somewhat cool . This image was take with a Sony A7 II trunk . The lens was a Nikon 85 mm 1.4 g attached with a Novoflex Adapter . Exposure was 1/400 ; ISO 80 . Because the body and the lens do not pass on all data , I ’m not indisputable what the aperture was . It was probably pretty tightlipped to broad open .

Fall Bridge

This photo was take a couple weeks back when the leaves were just starting to cast and it was beginning to feel like fall . Mortality

I ’ve been think a lot about demise of late . I planned to take a fall picture for this competition in my hometown when I went to see my female parent this week , but I did n’t require to photograph the usual spots that I ’ve done a hundred metre before . So , when I saw a small necropolis , I pulled in and think about what I could photograph .

And then I realized that I was suffer within a stone ’s cam stroke of a miss I knew from high-pitched school day , a girl who I can still recollect clearly , a missy who died in front of me and three - 12 other horror-struck classmates back when I was a freshman . I realized that it was the first time I ’d been in this memorial park in a decade , and that so much clock time had passed . She ’s now been stagnant for a longer clip than she was ever animated . All the retentivity I have of life from then to now … they’re more than she had in her whole life . She died at geezerhood fourteen . I took a few shots near her grave , but it felt improper to use them for this . However , the link between Autumn and fatality rate ( hardly new ) stupefy with me .

On Sunday , I drive out to Lakeview Cemetery on Cleveland ’s East Side . It ’s an amazing place with affair that you would n’t believe . Instead of go away to one of the more well - know statues that ’s been shot by everyone ( the Haserot Angel , Google it ! ) , I remembered seeing these pillar rising up through the leaves like the vestiges of a long - bury temple . I ’ve take a very similar shot to this before , but that was in spring with everything verdant and green and new ; this is a prissy contrast to that .

Roborock Saros Z70 Review

I used my Sony A7II and my Zeiss 24 - 70 f4 . To focalize the range up slightly , I stopped down to f4.5 , whizz in to about 50 millimetre and a shutter speed of 1/125th of a bit . The contrast of the coloration and the stone of the absurdly large grave mark seems meet , particularly over the last few day . I ’ve really been thinking a lot about how tenuous life actually is . We dissipate ourselves into cerebrate that it ’s not , but our prison term ’s unforesightful . I think about the young girl I knew , how her whole liveliness is over and done , and how someday I ’ll do the same . It ’s somber , really , but it also means that we ought to enjoy the experience we ’ve pose while we ’re able-bodied to . The color of the leaves is beautiful , but it ’s also a reminder of our mortality . no-account if that ’s morbid , but that ’s what this particular shot competition brought out of me .

New England

I grew up in a tropical country where there are only two seasons   : Monsoon and summer . You could imagine my excitement when I saw New England settle for the first tim ! ! I went on a drive with my friend chase free fall colors , and was discussing with him originally in the twenty-four hour period how heavy it is to find good reflections . We were driving through a small road somewhere in westerly CT - MA border when we find this gem . The light was fading fast , so speedily parked the auto , pulled out the camera and started shoot . Sending the one I like the most . Equipment Used   : Nikon D80 , 18 - 135 , f/7.1

San Gabriel Valley Stalk

I really care how this piffling chaff of grass calculate like a touchy miniature tree with tiny fiddling leaves . It really stood out from all the other plants in this general vicinity . I just wait a few minute for the nothingness to prop up the stalking just properly then hit the shutter . I take this motion-picture show in the mountains above the San Gabriel Valley in California with a Canon 5D Mark II and 24 - 105 mm f/4 Lens .

Dogwood

I was out doing yard body of work and noticed the bright colors of this small dogwood tree . The tardy Sunday good afternoon sunlight was fickle , forever alter as the cloud pitch overhead . I direct this shot with outstretched arms , standing on my toes , the television camera hold as high as possible to get unaired to the most colorful folio . I like the dissimilar shade of colouring in the dogwood , and the dividing line of the still - green beech tree in the ground . Canon G7X , F/1.8 , 1/125 sec . ISO-125 .

Glendale Drought

In drought ridden southern California this was almost an unimaginable challenge unless we wanted to redefine “ pin ” to “ wry ” or “ utter ” . I almost had to take to the woods over to the skinny Hobby Lobby to photograph some hokey cosmetic leaf just to participate . Ah , but after a recollective walk around Glendale , We spotted one rarefied fall tree . I used my droid phone with the sunniness in the back to give it an even more yellow smell .

Talcott Mountain State Park

This is one of my favourite daub to patronize in CT – Talcott Mountain State Park . It offers many sensational lookouts , the incredible and ascendable Heublein Tower ( once a summer home built in the 1950s ) , and often public events are held by the hardworking association . At around 1,000 animal foot up , the 1,000 + sq land mile view never gets older . Beautiful in every season and any time of sidereal day , it is especially so in fall when the tardy good afternoon sunlight attain the mountainside just properly . Cuyahoga Valley National Park

This photo was taken in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park . I had to do a scrap of hiking to get this slam . It ’s a long photograph shoot so as to get the nerveless body of water outcome . I forgot my tripod so I had to ad-lib and pile a few rock ‘n’ roll to position the camera to get this shot . Those orange leaves take care so cool on top of those plastered rock candy . Equipment used was my 6D , Sigma 24 - 70 mm , Tiffen variable star ND , and a few rocks .

DeWitt Drive

I took this word-painting on a driveway back from a family trip to the autumn pumpkin piece with my wife and two child . This shot it of Webb Road , just northwards of DeWitt , MI . We came down this road on the direction to the patch and made my family hold back on the style back so I could stand in the road to take the word picture . I took the delineation with my iPhone 6 using a multi - exposure app named Hydra .

St Louis

I was driving over to Forest park in St Louis , MO , over the weekend to take the air my dog and I see this sight as I was drive by . I hiked around and butted up to the interstate highway and got this shot . I walked the intact Mungo Park and this ended up being the best colour I saw all Clarence Day . I used a Nikon D750 with a 28 - 75 F2.8 Tamron Lens with a polarizer

Just Changing

For this blastoff I used a Canon 6D with a Canon 24 - 105 f/4 lens . This is a 3 picture picture HDR shot . I stood directly under a tree and pointed my camera up to trance the sun coming through the leaves . I really liked the backlighting the Sunday was giving the leaves and the fact that there was just a few orange leave-taking mixed in . This is one of the last trees by me that has this much dark-green on it still !
