According to a tweet from @NYCityAlerts , a monumental swallow hole has just opened up in low-down Manhattan . The collapse was preceded bya water main break around 11 am , flooding several eating place include the famous Katz ’s Deli ( do n’t interest , the pastrami is safe ) .
We went down to check out the scenery for ourselves and were told that it will be about a day or more before everything ’s cleaned up . There is good news , though . The health section has already done an inspection and the leaking pee is not a health risk , and while gas lines have temporarily been shut off galvanizing military service seems to be unaffected . But perhaps most incredibly , there is supposedly “ no core on the train underneath . ”
