AMD has announced a series of firmware patch set to arrive in the coming week to addresssecurity issuesraised by an Israeli security measure firm one week ago .
In a March 13th white newspaper , largely devoid of technical specific , newbie security measure firm CTS - Labs revealednumerous vulnerabilitiesaffecting AMD processors . Because the researchers gave AMD less than 24 hours to respond — leave to widespreadaccusationsof fund handling — this is the first official update from AMD regarding its enquiry .
The company first emphasized that to take vantage of any of the issues raised by CTS - Labs , an attacker would first need to gain administrative ( or root ) admission to the system . “ Any aggressor gaining unauthorized administrative access code would have a wide range of attack at their administration well beyond the feat identified in this inquiry , ” AMD said .

In defending itself for giving AMD less a solar day to address the issues , CTS - Labs enunciate it consider it would take AMD “ many , many month , or even a year ” to extenuate the problem . However , AMD now says it expects to ready all of the issues within weeks via firmware patch and BIOS update .
AMD said it does not anticipate any of the patches to impact performance .
