The highly anticipated second season of theEmmy - nominated showhas had a harsh route amid all the strikes and , as a result , got promote back into the next calendar year . All of which makes what showrunner Tony Gilroy order this week even more harrowing . In a serious mode .
Speakingat the late Writer ’s Guild Awards , Gilroy heaped a whole unexampled level of praise on the upcoming 2nd time of year ofAndor . “ I ’ve been on Andor for five years now . We ’re finishing the 2nd half , ” Gilroy said . “ I ’ve had a set of fun over the years , but I do n’t know whether I ’ve ever done anything as important as these 24 minute of storytelling we ’re doing now . I do n’t know if it ’s just because it ’s the thing I ’m on , but I do n’t think so . I ’ve never had a fortune to exploit this self-aggrandizing before so it ’s a somewhat bountiful mountain for me . ”

Though , there is one bit of unpaired phrasing here . Gilroy cite to “ 24 hours of storytelling ” which is n’t immediately clear . In the past tense , he break thatthe 12 - instalment second time of year is broken into four three - episode chapters with about a year in between each . Could he be consult to one specific piece ? No . He ’s almost sure enough refer to the 24 minute that encompass both of Andor ’s 12 - episode season . So while the quote is season two - centric , really , he ’s referring to the whole show . And rightfully so . We ’ll see him finish it out next class .
