Based on these exciting findings , the team set out to try and observe the metal money in their rude habitat , the woods of Mount Gaoligong in Yunnan Province , Southwest China . Remarkably , they were lucky enough to get another specimen and record observations of two other flying squirrel .
" The new species was come across in the ' clean arena ' spanning 1,250 kilometer between the isolated habitats of the two known species , which suggests that the genus is much more far-flung than previously thought .
