The 1950sDoctor Whoanimated level “ Dreamland ” draw out all the 50s - cliche arrest : head - shop aliens , Cold War hysteria , Area 51 , and rockabilly Native Americans . Especially this enceinte sequence , showing a stoner - inspired distance war . Spoilers below .
Okay , so “ Dreamland ” was pretty faint , except for a few funny bits where David Tennant brought a smidgen of his distinctive wit and sparkle to the function . It was concentrated to take the information processing system - generate animation seriously , and the narration pretty much made no sense whatsoever . But considering it was aimed at little kidskin and shown via the “ red button ” overhaul and the child ’s BBC channel , it ’s good to take it on its own terms , as a fun bit of frivolity . Who did n’t desire to get a line David Tenant spout ridiculous Shakespearean puns like “ Some are have crate , some have crateness thrust upon them ? ” And for me , it was pretty much worth it to find out the “ gray ” aliens with headbands and car guns fighting Tractators / xenomorphs .
