The Fujifilm X100doesn’t just perform like a title-holder , it looks wonderfully analog as well . Samsung is n’t going to get Fujifilm eat all the retro cake — they’re planning a faux - vintage digital of their own , harmonize to a Modern rumor .

Photog blog36expposted about an R1 camera by Samsung — a camera that does n’t be — which was then inexplicably delete . Does it make love something we do n’t ? Camera gossip site Mirrorless Rumors got a written matter before it was taken down :

Last night I pay heed a feedback session run by a inquiry company on behalf of a major camera party . They were looking for ‘ advanced camera user ’ to give feedback on a new camera design .
They showed what looked like a very well progressed mock up and specification of a television camera , which was about the size of a Canon G12 ( Click here ot see that River Cam ) , or mirrorless photographic camera , but had styling very similar to the Fuji X100 ( Click here ot see that cam ) .
The spec of the camera that we were asked to give feedback on was given as :

– APS C size of it detector
– 24.3 mega pixels
– exchangeable lenses

– Mirrorless organisation
– Magnesium metal body
– Retro Styling ( their Word ) i.e. verbatim access buttons and dials for control , interchangeable looking to Fuji x100 , black and chrome

– 10 fps
– Max shutter speed 1/8000 sec
– Phase autofocus

– Swivel LCD screen ( although this did n’t get adept feedback )
– monetary value £ 616 including kit lense
They did n’t reveal it as Samsung ab initio , but the discussion beget onto which mark we trust and everyone mentioned Nikon , Canon , Leica etc as brands with heritage that they would commit if buy into what seemed to be a premium camera . When someone mentioned that they would be less likely to buy it if it was from Samsung a bozo come along ( who been remark the session from behind one fashion glass ) and announced that it was a Samsung television camera , and postulate our thoughts on this … .

Could n’t get any exposure or bring anything out unluckily . It may be called the Retro R1 or similar as the mock up had Retro etch on it , but taping over the rest of the name .
I really liked it , seemed to have SLR spec in a smaller body , hopefully it comes to realization .
This sounds cracking to us — stellar spectacles in a tiny , attractively - antiquey shell , with the interchangeable lens we ’ve adored so much late . I desire the trend ingest off , so long as innards are n’t given precedence over look-alike quality . [ PetaPixel ]
