In a 1931 issue of Mechanics Illustrated , clothes designer Leon Feoquinos present plan for this floating delight city smack dab in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean . This unreal island contained not one , but four recreations of the Eiffel Tower .
Feoquinos built the urban center for the sad day when the continents “ become overcrowded . ” Also note that his plans were presented next to a upbeat article about people drowning on sail ships . Germane !
