Over the preceding few years , Hasbro ’s “ Haslab ” initiativehas fetch us an regalia ofStar Warsvehicles andplaysetsthat are unlike anything else the company can do across either of its lines in the extragalactic nebula far , far away . But perhaps its biggest yet — a scale replicaofStar Wars Rebels ‘ main ship , theGhost — is commence to ship out to angel , reach them what might be the closest we have to an ultimate natural action figure solemnisation of one ofStar warfare ‘ brightest stars .
What’s Included With theStar WarsHaslabGhost?
Inside the monumental boxyou’ll receive the main body of theGhostitself , with some assembly required : there are six section representing the out Kingston-upon Hull for you to attach , as well as the ship ’s locomotive engine , removable instrument panel for the outer Kingston-upon Hull that include the topside turret , and obliterable landing place gears to for whether or not you ’re exhibit the ship in flight or docked . Good luck if you ’re doing the former : theGhostis one of the largestStar Warsvehicles Hasbro has produced at a whopping 28 by 34 inches , and the largestStar WarsVintage Collection fomite since the Khetanna sail barge that kickstarted the whole Haslab ventureback in 2018 .
TheGhostwouldn’t be complete without the improver of its trusty shuttlecock , thePhantom . Included in this display case , to go with the overall theme of this being theGhostas it ’s seen by the fourth season ofRebelsand finally intoAhsoka , the shuttle include here is the bulkierPhantom II , which can be displayed either dock to the back of theGhostas it is on the show , or individually on its own . ThePhantomincludes a bonus “ Accessory ” in the conformation the head of Chopper , the Spectre team ’s trusty droid , which can be slot into thePhantom‘s droid socket ( more on the quietus of Chopper ’s body , or want therefrom , shortly ) .
A right ship needs a dear work party to pilot it , and the HaslabGhosthas four members of theRebelsteam to help do exactly that . Being backed by over 22,000 people by the meter its hunting expedition wrapped up , theGhostunlocked every stretch goal to come with figure of Hera ( include as part of the stock run ) , Kanan , Ezra , and Zeb . Each physique comes with a unequaled Vintage Collection cardback that apply art pulled from the mural Sabine painted of the team at the climax ofRebels(and seen shortly again inAhsoka ) to designate them as exclusive to the Haslab Ghost . But they ’re also , for the most part , exclusive to theGhost‘s acquittance in other ways . Hera , depicted in herRebels - geological era flightsuit and cowcatcher goggles , is a completely exclusive figure so far , with the only other Hera released in this scale being ground on her appearance inAhsokaas a General of the New Republic .

Kanan , Ezra , and Zeb meanwhile have all received standardized enough retail release in the line already . Kanan is perhaps the second most alone next to Hera . The retail version of him is based on his appearance in seasons one and two , so the Haslab variant comes with an updated costume , as well as extra accessories to portray Kanan after he ’s blinded by Darth Maul : one standard caput that includes a obliterable face mask , and a second that depicts Kanan ’s discredited oculus and his shaved haircut from the climactic episodes of time of year four . Zeb and Ezra meanwhile are the closest to their already - useable retail press release . Zeb has alternate graffiti decos on his armor to well align with his appearance inRebels ‘ fourth time of year , as well as an alternate case sculpt , depicting him smirking . Book of Ezra ’s additions meanwhile are strictly in the form of a couple more accessories : his stolen Imperial scout helmet , paint by Sabine , and a Loth quat .
That land us to the elephant in the room : the HaslabGhostdoesn’t derive with the full crew of theGhost . To celebrate the run reachingall of its stretch goals , Hasbro announced that it would make versions of Sabine and Chopper to go with the set , but only as an additional purchase , rather than as part of the military campaign . On the one paw , this mean anyone , whether or not they backed the Haslab , could get these particular public figure , which issue forth with a mural cardback to tie them into the Haslab figures . On top of that , Sabine is at least an almost entirely new sculpt and paint occupation compared to herAhsokarelease in the Vintage Collection , coming with a bunch of special accessory ( including a few more Loth cat , to start your own pridefulness ) .
On the other , Hasbro sold this hardening — emphasis onsold , it ’s no longerdirectly available from the fellowship — for a whopping $ 50 . That is alotfor what is , ultimately , one and a half 3.75″ scale figure . Chopper actually comes withlessthan his standalone retail counterpart , even if he does have a bright key outline more align with his coming into court inRebels . A full one-tenth of the $ 500 cost of the HaslabGhostitself for what is , basically , an almost mandatory leverage if you actually need a completeRebelscrew is a genuinely wild ask , no matter how swell the form are .

What’s Inside theStar WarsHaslabGhost?
Once you ’ve stop in reality putting all the section of theGhosttogether , it ’s time to actually absent some of that all over again to get access to the interior of the ship . A couple of top panels can be remove to see what ’s at bottom , including a discussion section that houses theGhost‘s top gunner turret , itself a standalone “ pipe ” slot into the top of the ship when closed up . As well as being transferable ( just like the chin turret below the chief cockpit ) , this top turret also has an adjustable keister , so whether you ’re mug up someone as big as Zeb or someone as small as Ezra into it , they fit comfortably .
Once you get all that out of the way though lies the four main sections depicted inside the Haslab , each packed with a ton of small details . First off there ’s the cockpit , which includes four master seats , put out just like they are in the show , and a fifth low-toned derriere at the front to limn the rarely shown forward machine gunner side . Every jury is covered with fun greebling and little detail , with the space to squeeze in all four include form ( it ’s an even tighter squeeze with Sabine and Chopper ) . The cockpit also houses a fun , but difficult to really habituate , feature from the show : a minuscule ladder at the back of the room to come into theGhost‘s primary loading bay ( more on that later ) .
prompt through the hall that connects each section of the inside , the next segment is two crew cabin . The starboard side depicts Hera ’s after part , complete with a bunk bed with a obliterable top part ( which has curtains on to give theGhost‘s police captain some privacy ) to advantageously set figures lying in it , while the port side limn Ezra and Zeb ’s shared way , with a ravel to climb up to the second bunk . Lastly , at the aft of the ship is the lounge and kitchen area . The roomy part of the inside , it ’s also the one spot with some fillip included accessory in the form of a few turn of piece of furniture : a dejarik tabular array that can be plug in next to the waiting area ’s lounge , a few stools and a wooden chair , and a picnic table to put in the kitchen . Only the first of those bits of furniture can really be locked into office though , so you will needs have some rattling around if you move theGhostaround — but it ’s a great spot to pose the crew unbend and hanging out with each other .

As playfulness as the interiors are , they ’re also where theGhosthas had to make some raw cutbacks for scale . The ship is n’t actuallyfullyto - scale of measurement for 3.75″ figures , otherwise it would be even more massive than it already is , but that also means some cutting off have had to be made on the inside . In the show , theGhosthas four cabins , so the Haslab version has lost both Kanan and Sabine ’s rooms . The latter is especially a shame , as it would ’ve been great to see the print art deco for Sabine ’s graffiti - covered wall in hers , but without a Sabine flesh actually being included in the movement straight , it probably made sense to be one of the slice room . You ’re also , of course , only getting one level of interior — there ’s no room in the ship as - is to depict the full freight bay , but you at least still getsomeof it with the run down from the cockpit , even if the bay itself is barely accessible . you could enter the forward gangway for a little more elbow room , but you could hardly wring a public figure in there , countenance alone cargo .
ThePhantom IIis also another example of the Haslab ’s condense for scale . While it matches the size of the ship as is , being below - scale thePhantom IIis now less of a shuttlecock and more of a single - crew fighter : there ’s no back seating section , only a unmarried front seat for a pilot , and the realism of the scale of measurement as such is that it lookstinywith figures localize next to it . So while you’re able to remove it from its docking interface on theGhostand showing it separately with retractable landing gears , it onlyreallyworks slotted into the ship where it matches the ordered series better .
Is theStar WarsHaslabGhostWorth It?
Ultimately , theGhostprobably place upright as one of the best vehicles Hasbro has ever made — for the Vintage Collection or otherwise . It ’s amassivehunk of plastic and tough in all the ways you want it to be . The particularisation is fantastical , even with the accommodation to scale the interior is in picky just packed with great deal of fun little details that spend a penny setting up little vignette with theRebelscrew that really does make it feel like it ’s a festivity of these fictitious character and their home . And speaking of those quality , their transition to military action figure form is fantastic , even with a few largely already having made their way into the TVC line in some form or another . There ’s some weird choices to free “ single ” version here — Zeb definitely require to include the retail acquittance ’s head on top of the smiling one , and not sure anyone in reality needs this many 3.75″ scaled loth cats — but it ’s great to get this later variant of the Spectres , Kanan especially , who stands as the best of a good bunch by a significant margin .
Such is the paradox of Haslab undertaking , however : if you were waiting to scan a hands - on piece like this , it ’s too late to decide if you want in or not . You have to know you ’re invested already to even buy into one at all , whether or not it turns out as good as you want it to be . If you back it ? You believably already do it the ways to convince yourself that this was deserving it — and in many agency , it really is!—regardless . If you did n’t ? Well , good fortune either payingwell over thaton the aftermarket , or waiting for anextremely rarified resalefrom Hasbro directly , if one ever number at all .
Either way , you still have to weigh the cost investment here . The truth is $ 500 is alotof money , no matter of whether or not this is a retail Cartesian product or a curated crowdfunded drive . TheGhostis monumental , yes , but even if toll could n’t have open any extra scale leaf , there ’s still a few things that could ’ve made it an even better miniature for the hefty price tag . Lights and sounds in some electrical capacity , even if it was just engine haphazardness and chargeman ardour , would ’ve move a long style to make the ship finger even more premium . And then , of course , there ’s the Sabine / Chopper situation . You ’re already pay so much for this that having to separate out even more for it to feel properly complete as the loveletter toRebelsit wants to be is a huge bummer — one that ’s only made even worse with how safe the rest of the solidifying is .

Even with the volume of these compromises and retainer though,10 days afterRebelsfirst soared into our hearts , it ’s wild to see the series get such a fantastic celebration of itself in plastic shape . It ’s not perfect by any way , but it ’s near enough to the good Hasbro could do to give us the Spectres and their ride in all their glory … almostall of them in one go , at least .
