Heart pounding , I toss and turned , unable to get her grody face out of my head . I ’d think the image had passed and , bonanza , my brain would flash her countenance again . I meditate and spiral . What if I really did get a message from this entity compelling me to do bad stuff with the threat that I ’d only see worse thing if I did n’t ?
All of which is to say this : Dear reader , I am dead terrified of Momo .

I know where she comes from , but that does n’t make it any just , really . The creepy-crawly range of a function is actually a photo ofa carving called Mother Birdcreated by the Nipponese peculiar effects troupe Link Factory . Last yr , federal agency around the worldbegan sharing warnings of the “ Momo Challenge,”where WhatsApp users adopting the image would supposedly tell youngster to perform more and more utmost acts , share gory epitome if they did n’t , and allegedly ride some to self-destruction . Some news outlets warn of the challenge , while others realized that most Momo - related claims were badly supported and the whole thingstank of a hoax . The panic reignited again this week , when an Irish police section shared yet another monition on Facebook — and implicated parentssignal - boosted the subject matter .
Websites have returned to writing blog either warn masses not to peach to strangers on WhatsApp or remind readers that the Momo Challenge moral affright is almost certainly a hoax and that no deaths have been definitively linked to it . Regardless of their slant , they all share an enormous version of the same , terrible star persona without warning .

You might call up an episode of Courage the Cowardly Dog titled “ King Ramses ’ Curse . ” I watched the episode belated one dark as a child while model alone on the living room couch . King Ramses appear on the screen door in a fog , moving awkwardly and moaning “ return the slab or put up my curse . ” I could n’t fall benumbed for several weeks without seeing Ramses ’ frequent image , and never watched a full sequence of Courage the Cowardly Dog again for fear that I might see him once more . I had a similar response to theChinese ghost taxicab face . I ’m just not full with body horror .
I ’ve attempted to block Momo out of my life . One of my editors promised I could print this web log without looking up Momo and that he ’d fill in some of the facts so I would n’t have to see the horrible case again . Call me a wimp , but I just should n’t have to see shock imagery more than is absolutely necessary .
