Although the Thanksgiving holiday is rooted in the pilgrims’ decisive split from Mother England,Kate Middleton‘s family doesn’t seem to be holding a grudge.
Her ideas, such as getting kids to help create table decorations, asking guests to say what they’re thankful for before the meal and taking a walk afterwards, mostly aligned with how the day is enjoyed Stateside. A few outliers: She suggested some American-flag-themed decorations to give the party some U.S.A. cred and also said that since Brits typically enjoy whole roast turkey at Christmas, “…you could simply roast a turkey crown” or “go for the family’s favourite roast and use turkey in one of the canapes instead.” (No mention of topping a sweet potato casserole with James Middleton’s photo-printed marshmallows, but they are a bit too pretty to melt.)
Party Times also has a surprisingly extensive selection of Thanksgiving-themed products. Along with the delightfully kitschyturkey plates(shown above), here are a few items we’re digging:

Thecurly spoons(bottom left) are a fun way to serve hors d’oeuvres and also practice a little portion control before the gorge-fest. Speaking of the main meal, putting these adorable papermaple-leaf placemats(top right) on the kids’ table means that when spills happen, it’s easy to grab a fresh one. (Can’t you just imaginePrince Georgewaving one around?) Finally, we love sending guests home with leftovers, but we usually just shove them into uninspired plastic containers. These colorfulparty boxes(top left) and Chevron-stripedtreat bags(bottom right) are inspiring us to think outside the Tupperware.
