During an appearance onThe Jennifer Hudson Showthis week, the “All I Want For Christmas Is You” singer revealed she prefers heels to sneakers after hostJennifer Hudsonasked, “What’s the most casual item of clothing in your closet?”

“Probably some hideous slides that someone made me purchase,” replied the 54-year-old. “Because I don’t own sneakers —”

Hudson quickly interjected to confirm what she heard, “You don’t?”

“No, I don’t. Because I get a blister on the back of my foot.” Hudson then asked the Grammy winner if she prefers heels over sneakers.

Carey clarified, “Well, that’s the problem, heels hurt too. So I don’t really know what to do.”

“I bet you could get around better in the heels?” asked the Oscar winner.

Carey explained that it’s easier for her to wear heels because she’s someone who “no matter what” walks on her toes. “I’ve always done that. So it’s kind of a thing.” She then added, “I wear slippers!”

Carey has developed a reputation for showing offglamorous looks in unexpected places. Most notably in 2017, she proved she really doesn’t own sneakers and opted to hit the gym in a pair of stilettos.
