Ray Jis a proud father of two kids: daughter Melody and son Epik.
The singer and his estranged wife, reality star Princess Love, welcomed their first child, Melody, in 2018 and their second child, Epik, two years later.
Ray J and Love have experienced their fair share of ups and downs, includingfiling for divorcefour times, the most recent in February 2024. Despite these changes, the singer has shared that the happiness of their children is his priority.
“I guess happiness is important, but for me, if my kids are happy, then I don’t care about happiness,” Ray J said onThe Breakfast Clubradio show in March 2024.

Heshared the news on his Instagram, writing “Proudest DAD on the planet! Can’t explain the feeling — no words could mean it! I understand what parents feel now and why the love and bond is from God above!”
The “Sexy Can I” singer continued to express his overwhelming joy on social media, writing in the caption of another photo of him with his firstborn, “I love my daughter sooo much and I can’t thank God enough for giving this #blessing to @princesslove and me!!!”

On his first Father’s Day, theCelebrity Big Brotheralumdropped a visual accompanimentto one of his 2005 tracks. The video featured behind-the-scenes footage of him and Princess at the hospital the day Melody was born.
Six years later, on his daughter’s birthday, Ray J shared a photo onInstagramalongside a sweet tribute.
“MY HEART AND SOUL … I cried so much full of love when you first entered this world!! — YOU FILL MY HEART UP WITH HAPPINESS EVERY MINUTE OF THE DAY!!” he wrote. “I WILL DO ANY AND EVERYTHING TO LOVE YOU EVERYDAY AND PROTECT YOU … I’m truly blessed to be your dad!!”

Ray J and Love welcomed their son, Epik Ray Norwood, on Dec. 30, 2019.
Ray J and Love also announced the sex of their second child on the singer’sInstagram, via a video of a helicopter dropping down blue smoke. “We’re about to hop on the chopper. They’re going to lay down the smoke. It could be pink or blue,” he said beforehand. “We’re going to find out right now, way up in the air.”

The R&B icon oftenposts videos on Instagramof his kids playing together. In one 2023 clip, he expressed his gratitude, writing, “I love being a father!! Best blessing i ever had!! THANK YOU GOD!!”
Epik’s aunt,Brandy, shared her love for her nephew onInstagramfor his 2nd birthday. “Happy Birthday little guy @epikraynorwood ♥️ you have brought so much unspeakable joy to our family," she wrote. “We love you so much. My favorite nephew. Love Auntie ♥️.”
Ray J also uploaded a since-deleted Instagram video in 2023 documenting his emotions after dropping his children off at school. “Man I was so emotional taking my kids to school for the first time. @princesslove - do other parents get this emotional?? Or is it just me??? #ILOVEMYKIDS,” he shared.
